From Yu Qi"
1. There are 4 different divisions:
i) Polytechnic and Junior Colleges (team)
ii) Secondary Schools (team)
2. The game play is as follows:
a) All participating teams are to report at 8.30am at the SP Concourse. Games will start at 1pm. Please report to the admin counter. Registrations start from 8.30am to 9.30am.
b) All participating teams are to report latest by 9.30pm at the SP Concourse. Games will start at 9.30am.
c) Each team shall consist of 3 players and 1 reserve.
d) Each player will be given 45mins.
e) There will be 7 rounds altogether. 4 games shall be played on Day 1 and 3 games on Day 2.
3. General Administration
a) The closing date for all schools registration is 25th June. There will NOT be on-the-spot registration this year. Please enclose the registration fee together with the registration form, or pay them during the Captain’s meeting.
b) Prizes shall be awarded on Day 2. All teams are strongly encouraged to be present for the prize presentation.
c) The duration of the whole event daily will be from 9am to 8pm.
4. General Rule
a) We will follow the Chinese rules.
b) The colours (decides who start first) that the player will be using is will be decided by guessing of seeds. Seeds guessing will be done by first board only, thus it is players and captain’s role to take note of the colour that they are supposes to be using.
c) A team shall consist of 3 players and 1 reserve, which shall be listed in a fixed order before the competition begins (during administration on Day 1 of the competition). There shall be no imposition of rating in board order for the championships. Change of players is not allowed and no change in the board order is allowed after the start of round 1. The reserve must play on the last board. For each wrong placing in the team, a default of 1 point shall be awarded to the opposing team.
d) For team game, a late player is given only 15 minutes grace, failing which the opponent shall win by default.
